" I used to pray that God would feed the hungry, or do this or that,
but now I pray that he will guide me to do whatever I'm supposed to do, what I can do.  I used to pray for answers but now I'm praying for strength.  I used to believe that prayer changes things but now I know that prayers changes us and we change things."

The Shop
Christmas Open House

The day started with shoppers waiting to get in the door at 8:30.  We had Phyllis Gerber and Kay Downer running one cash register in the main room while I ran a second one in the pantry lobby.  Barb Ranger, Deb Wuebbling, and Joyce McMurtrey stayed busy restocking and rearranging shelves every time a space opened up.  Shoppers were filling their shopping bags/baskets over and over like there was no tomorrow.  The afternoon quieted down, although we had quite a few returning customers from the morning chaos.  Carol Steele and I were able to get by with one cash register, but thankfully, Deb stayed until almost 3:30 refilling the shelves.  Friday was such a fun day and thanks to all the people shown above for their participation in making this day yet another huge success!

Wow! I knew we had a good October sales month going, but I never dreamed it would end up as it did.  For the first time in Shop history, we not only hit a $5000 month but exceeded it, for a total October sales of $5627.00.  That puts us 17% ahead of last year to date.
Granted, our annual jewelry sale helped to give October sales a boost, however we have been blessed with incredibly nice donations that have been flying off the shelves.  We have been busier that normal with a steady stream of customers, many of whom are first timers at The Shop.

How blessed we are to be part of this ministry!
