A new venue is in place for the United Methodist Women of Indiana’s Legislative Day set for Thursday, March 12, 2015. This year’s event will begin at 9:30 a.m. EST in Fellowship Hall of North United Methodist Church, 3808 North Meridian Street in Indianapolis. The decision to move the event from the Capitol building to North UMC is to provide space whereby speakers may be more clearly heard, as well as give speakers access to multimedia equipment to enhance presentations. Scheduled speakers include:
Maternal Health – Dr. Wanda Spann Roddy;
Child Abuse – Virginia Black, South Bend Tribune;
Immigration Reform – Eleanor Pershing, St Matthew United Methodist Church, Frankfort; and
Domestic Violence – Laura Berry, Indiana Coalition against Domestic Violence.
Other speakers to be announced.
An opportunity to meet legislators at the Capitol Building will follow lunch, with roundtrip shuttle service provided by the church’s van. Either bring a lunch or box lunches will be available to those who choose. The day will conclude by 3:30 p.m. at the church. The event is sponsored jointly by United Methodist Women and Church Women United

Desserts for Hilltop Soup Supper
Whether you have sign up or not please bring your desserts to the kitchen at FUMC by noon on Tuesday the 17th. Please no desserts that need to be refrigerated. 

Do you remember being a pen pal?  Well we have the opportunity to be just that.  We have sponsored 4 individuals through Operation Classroom and need pen pals.  Please contact Karen Fritz if this something you would like to do.

Spring Retreat:  Be Still & Know  April 17-18
The spring retreat at Don Hall's Guesthouse will be April 17-18.  Rev Corinne Boruff-Stucker will help us "shake our sillies out" and listen to what God has for us!

Mark Zimmerman Volunteer Coordination is looking for people who would be about to help out on Mondays and Wednesday at the shelters.  Shifts are 6 to 10, 10 to 2, and 2 to 7.

Hilltop Soup Supper
Feb. 17th
We have been ask to help out with desserts for the supper.  Please have the desserts to the FUMC kitchen by noon on the 17th.  No desserts that need to be refrigerated.

We have sponsored four children through Operation Classroom, we need pen pals for these children if you are interest in corresponding with this children, please contact, Debbie Wuebbling and I will get you the information.
