Christmas Open House
Christmas decorations were plentiful at the Shop today; plentiful enough to result in over $1100 worth of sales! What magical chaos and fun it was!

Picture this:
1. People waiting to get in so we opened the doors at 8:45.
2. Room temperature in the building was a balmy 80 degrees.
3.  Two cash registers being run by Barb Ranger, Karen Fritz, Barb Blake and Phyllis Gerber.
4.  Stockers, also known as "runners", constantly refilling any nook and cranny or empty space that opened up on the shelves. These "runners" (with the achy backs, feet and legs) who also provided carryout service in their spare time were:  Mary Alice Koehler, Darlene Myers, Deb Wuebbling and Marlene Versteeg. Special thanks to these elves who went over and beyond the call of duty today. Without them, none of this day's success would be possible. I may have to give them a raise!

Also, thanks to the many Shop volunteers who showed up to look around, buy a little, and shake your heads in amazement because it truly was an amazing day. Your support is greatly appreciated.

Don't worry if you missed this event there are plenty of items available.

Boiler Down!!  Things have changed for the Raines Residence boiler!  It literally fell apart when they tried working on it to do the repairs.  Needless to say, we do not have any choice but to install a new boiler.  Details will follow about a special project to help fund this replacement.  In the mean while ... Checks should be designated "boiler or as needed" in the memo line and sent to the Residence.  Keep this project in your prayers.

Christmas Open House November 7th

Here is an email from Kathi about the shop:

For the 2nd time in our Resale Shop history, we realized monthly sales exceeding $5000. Thanks to all of our volunteers who made this happen.
A year ago in October 2013, monthly sales were $5627, of which $1235 was a direct result of jewelry/collectible sales.
This year, our October sales were $5356, of which $850 was from the jewelry/collectible sale.
So far, year-to-date sales are 3.3% ahead of last year. We have been spoiled the last 4 years with double digit growth percentages, but realistically, a 3.3% growth is better than no growth at all; at least that’s what I tell myself.
Yesterday, the dynamic duo of Marian Worden and Ruth Ann Deal got November off to a bang with $200 in sales. I believe they should work every Saturday, but they do not seem to agree with me. Go figure!
Remember that this Friday, Nov. 7th, is the Shop’s Christmas Open House. This is my personal favorite of all our special sales. I hope to see you all there and spread the word to your friends and family too.
Blessings, Kathi Thompson
