March sales at The Shop   were just under $3800.  This is a huge number and represents a great comeback from our February slump.  People have been buying the spring/summer merchandise like there is no tomorrow!  Although we are very well stocked in most areas, we welcome additional donations of linens, such as towels, as well as men's wear, especially light weight jackets.

We thank all of you who continue to shop, donate  and support the UMW Resale Shop.

The Next UMW book Discussion will be March 7at 6:00 p.m. in the church parlor.  We will be discussing Plain Wisdom By Cindy Woodsmall and Miriam Flaud.  The book has been selected to be a part of the 2013 United Methodist Women’s Reading program.

Plain Wisdom: An Invitation into an Amish Home and the Hearts of Two Women    By Cindy Woodsmall, and Miriam Flaud

Two friends from different worlds—one Old Order Amish, one Englischer—share the truths that bring them together.

Best-selling novelist Cindy Woodsmall might seem to have little in common with Miriam Flaud, a woman immersed in the culture of Old Order Amish. But with nine children and almost 60 years of marriage between them, Cindy and Miriam both have found the secrets to facing life with strength and grace. Whether enduring financial setbacks, celebrating new babies and times of prosperity, grieving the crushing losses in the deaths of family and friends, or facing disappointments with their respective communities—through it all they find guidance for each day by looking to God.
