Human Trafficking Presentation
was a success, the FBI agents were very informative. We filled the sanctuary, and could have stayed longer for the question and answers.  If you are interested in learning more about this subject, we are have a book discussion on October 9th at 6:30 p.m. in the Church Parlor.
 
There will also be a presentation at the First United Methodist Church of Griffith

The UMW Resale Shop is holding its annual jewelry and collectibles sale on Friday, October 4th form 9:00 am to 1:00 p.m.  The upscale costume and fine jewelry that has been accumulated throughout the year will be featured and available for sale at great prices.  This year, collectibles have been added to the sale that include antique porcelain and ceramics, Boyd's Plush Bears and International Dolls.  Plan to stop in at The Shop on the 4th and start your Christmas shopping early.  As always, we thank you for your continued support of this very important ministry.

 This Wednesday, Sept. 25th @ 7:00 p.m.
the FBI will be presenting a program on
Human Trafficking.
 

This Book is a follow up on the subject of Human Trafficking in the United States.  The book will be available for purchase after the presentation on Wednesday evening.
We will be having a book discussion on Wednesday ,October,9th at 6:30p.m. at the church.
The book is $13 and is also available on e-readers.

Jewelry / Collectibles Sales
The UMW Resale Shop at Asbury Centre is holding its annual jewelry and collectibles sale on Friday, October 4th from 9am to 1pm.
 
All fine and upscale costume jewelry that has been accumulated over the past year will be displayed and available for purchase, as well as collection of Boyd's Plush Bears, antique porcelain and paperweights.  Plan to do you Christmas shopping early and take advantage of The Shop's great prices.
 
Remember that all The Shop's proceeds go to support missions, many of which are within our own community.
 

This Wednesday we will not be walking, so we are able to go to the presentation on Human Trafficking.  We will walk the following Wed. weather permitting.
 
The UMW women of First United Methodist Church of Griffith are having a program on Human Trafficking on Saturday, October 19th at 1:00p.m.  This presentation will feature a Human Trafficking
Survivor, telling her story.

Good News....
Sales for the month of August proved to be exceptional;  we finished up a little over $3900 for the month.  Year to date, we are up 15% over last year! Yippee!

Please join us for an eye opening program, presented by agents from the FBI on Human Trafficking in the Northwest Indiana area.  We have flyer's available at the church to distribute to the community

September 12th Deadline
Bonnie Albert will be speaking at the North District Fall Meeting on Ubuntu.
The deadline to register is Sept. 12th and it is $5, make checks payable to NDUMW and send to Karen Anderson 1454 E. Monroe Street, South Bend, IN 46615
The meeting is being held at the First United Methodist Church in Hammond, IN from 8:30 - 11:30
Brunch will be served 8:30 - 9:15. Child care is provided with an rsvp with your registration.
 
 
 Wednesday Walking
We are walking Wednesday evenings at 6p.m. we meet at the Labyrinth.  If the weather is bad we will now join Karen Custer-Jankowski's indoor walking group.

Back to Church Sunday

 
 
September 15th at Central Park
We are manning the Welcome Table and handing out food tickets.
As well as manning the UMW table passing out bookmarks for the
Human Trafficking Presentation.  We will also be assembling UMCOR Health Kits,
with National/International  Missions.
We need volunteers for these two different areas, we have broke them into shifts,
11:00 to 12:30 and 12:30 to 2:00
